Sustainability

Temporary mining on a permanent land.

We understand mining as a temporary activity on a permanent land. That is why our environmental and social management is designed to leave a positive balance at the end of the mine’s life.

Environmental management

Our areas of work.

Water

Measurement and control of consumption, recirculation at the plant and monitoring of water quality in line with applicable regulations.

Leaching and waste

Design, operation and monitoring of leaching systems in accordance with NOM-155-SEMARNAT-2007, with controlled handling of solutions and mining waste.

Biodiversity and soil

Flora and fauna rescue and relocation programmes, and reforestation of disturbed areas.

Mine closure

Closure planning from the operating stage, with progressive restoration of areas that reach the end of their useful life.

Community

Growing together with the region.

The project is in its development stage and our relationship with the communities of Pueblo Nuevo is just beginning. These are the commitments we build it on from day one.

  • Hiring priority for people from the region as the operation grows.
  • Preference for local suppliers of goods and services.
  • Open, ongoing dialogue with authorities and neighbouring communities.
  • A complaints and suggestions channel accessible to anyone in the community.
